Full-Service Architecture

For projects where it makes sense to stay with the work from beginning to end. We guide the project through design, approvals, documentation and construction, coordinating the many decisions and people required along the way. We particularly enjoy working with existing buildings and adaptive reuse.

What do architectural services cost?

Architectural fees vary considerably depending on the type, size and complexity of a project and the services involved. As a broad reference, architectural services can range from roughly 3–30% of construction cost. A large, repetitive project may fall near the lower end, while a small, highly customized or complex project may fall much higher.

Adaptive Reuse

  • This project type is very unpredictable in terms of the design fees. You can count on spending more on an existing building than a new building, however the savings may be recouped during construction.

    We work on an hourly basis on adaptive reuse projects or any type of innovative projects where it is not possible to estimate the effort upfront.

Cafes and Shops

  • Concept - $10,000

    Full Service - $75,000

    Sensory - $5,000

What else goes into a project budget?

Architectural fees are only one part of the overall project budget. Depending on the project, you should also plan for: Architecture + Consultants + Permits & Fees + Construction

Consultants vary by project. Structural and energy consultants are common, while civil, geotechnical, landscape, acoustical and other specialists may be needed depending on the scope and complexity.
